Sports Widow Radio
My friends and I have created a pilot Sports Widow Radio show. This would be a new comedic program geared toward women that tackles sports fanaticism and its counterpart – disenfranchisement – in an intelligent, irreverent, satirical and eccentric way. Sports Widow Radio would be the first show ever produced about sports for people who don’t like it, don’t get it or aren’t good at it. Sports Widow Radio would be Car Talk and Ellen meet The Best Damn Sports Show Period. At its heart, Sports Widow Radio would use the lens of sports to reveal the Men Are From Mars-Women Are From Venus nature of male/female relationships.
The Sports Widow Radio team includes hosts Nan Hall, The Sports Widow; Klem Daniels, The Fan; and Maura Gallucci, The Sports Widow Cheerleader and Dave Sharp, the Head Coach. The show would incorporate listener call-ins, celebrity interviews, Nan-on-the-street interviews, Couples Face-off, Sports Widow correspondents (who file reports from major sporting events in the comedic vein of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart), news-you-can-use and film/book/product reviews. Frequent special guests could include love and relationship therapists; book and movie reviewers; and chefs who dish up food and entertainment ideas.
Please listen to the show or any of the segments that pique your interest and let us know what you think. Stay tuned for more.
