The Sports Widow Vacuums Away Her Sorrows at the Car Palace

After Austin's Little Leage team, the Boas, lost in the playoffs today, I felt compelled to do something dramatic to alter my dreary mood. My sister-in-law, Ann, offered to take care of the girls for a few hours, and Austin and Bryan were at the All-Star try-outs all afternoon, so I opted for a quick trip to Home Depot for drawer pulls. Then, as if on auto-pilot, my car, a Dodge Plymouth Voyager dubbed "the eggplant on wheels" nosed to the Carwash Palace, the instant remedy for all spiritual woes.
At the Carwash Palace, for just a few quarters, in my case $4 worth, I've discovered that I can change my mood instantly. I enter an emotional pauper and exit Queen of the palace. I don't even have to mess with the fragrances they offer. Anyway, who wants their car to smell like pina colada, strawberry sunrise or Georgia peach? Just give me that vacuum attachment with the powerful suction and let me loose on the rubble in my car interior. After crawling around, heaving the coils over the roof of the car and sucking out all of the debris inside, I am a new woman. It's quick, tangible, satisfying and you get a workout, too. It would be perfect if they didn't have that annoying beep at the end, which signals that your time is nearly up.
What's your trick for getting rid of a bad mood?
