Little League Baseball Abducted My Family

One of the Team Moms just shared the shocking news with me: Depending on how Austin’s All Star team advances in the tournament, we could be doing time in Vancouver, WA, for as long as 10 days! That’s 10 days of gas, food, lodging and a posse of 9/10-year-old boys and their entourages. This is going to wreak havoc on our family budget and schedule.

This explains why we are planning a major fundraiser to defray the costs. Now that I fully comprehend what the commitment entails, I am feeling a bit more zealous and interested in the success of our upcoming car wash/bake sale. Our crew is baking a variety of cupcakes, which we will naturally decorate to look like baseballs. For simplicity I am doing something heretical: I am buying box cupcake and frosting mixes. UGHHHH. I am SO ashamed. Where’s the nearest culinary confessional?

Sometimes a packaged cake mix is OK, right? Right?
