Chinese Food is a Great Way to Celebrate The Beijing Olympics

My sister-in-law Helen took us to a fantastic Chinese restaurant in her neighborhood of Oakton, Virginia. You don't have to pay homage to The Beijing Olympics by parking yourself in front of the TV every second, do you?

My all-time favorite feature of the traditional Chinese restaurant is the lazy Susan in the middle. I still don't get where the phrase Lazy Susan came from. Who was Susan? Who called her lazy and why? Unfortunately, our lazy Susan wasn't lazy, though; it was destructive. It had some attitude. It tipped over a water glass during one of its rotations.
That aside, we dined on eggrolls, crabmeat wontons, crispy beef, General Tsao's chicken, chicken fried rice. It was incredible. My love for Chinese food and Asian food is only rivaled by Greek.
Here's to you Beijing and your country's fine culinary traditions.
