Life is a Contact Sport. Seize the Remote. Reclaim the Recliner. After years of being the last one chosen for Red Rover (weak wrists), falling asleep with the guys from Sports Center® (NEVER have a TV in your bedroom), and being abandoned at family gatherings because of “the game,” now you can Get into the Game by becoming a member of your own club.

Sports Widow Entertainment, LLC was founded in 2002, in Seattle, Washington, by Nan Hall, The Sports Widow, and Dave Sharp, The Coach. Our goal is to unite and ignite the Sports Widow Nation comprised of the disenfranchised spouses, parents and reluctant companions of a sports fanatic. We want to create products about sports for people who don’t like it, don’t get it or aren’t good at it.
Whether you’re an All-Sports Widow or identify more with being a Golf Widow, Football Widow, Basketball Widow, Baseball Widow or Soccer Widow, this is a place where you can belong. And, you have teammates (just don’t submit them to any rigorous athletic tests or sports trivia quizzes).
Sports Widow Mission
Sports Widow Entertainment, LLC is committed to entertaining, enlightening and empowering Sports Widows, the disenfranchised spouses, parents, and reluctant companions of sports fanatics everywhere. We will connect with Sports Widows through media, events and products specifically geared to them. These may include the Internet, how-to books, radio talk shows and commentaries, cartoons, newspaper and magazine columns, television shows, film, special events and merchandise.
Our game plan includes:
• lampooning the sports frenzy that dominates American society and the world,
• helping you exorcise your sports demons,
• giving you a forum to share your stories or problems,
• answering your questions (without making you feel like a rookie), and
• if you like, jump-starting you into engagement with news-you-can-use.

Nan Hall — The Sports Widow
Sports Widow Entertainment, LLC

Nan Hall affectionately refers to herself as The Sports Widow. Her inspiration for Sports Widow Entertainment is entirely autobiographical and is based on her belief that Comedy = Tragedy + Time (this is the only math formula she ever memorized). Nan grew up in Milwaukee, WI, where she suffered the anguish of being an un-athletic youth surrounded by Cheeseheads, then married a sports fan (who wanted a prenuptial agreement protecting the sanctity of March Madness*), and unwittingly spawned more sports fans with the birth of her three young children. Nan currently resides in Seattle, WA.
Nan has nearly 25 years of experience as a marketing communications professional. She began her career in Washington, D.C., where she held communications positions for some of the country’s most renowned institutions, including the National Science Foundation, Smithsonian Institution, and U.S. Senate. While living in Seattle, Nan has worked with the 1990 Goodwill Games, Woodland Park Zoo, Pacific Science Center, Belo Corporation and The Burke Museum. Nan is President of Sports Widow Entertainment, host of Sports Widow Radio, and sportswidow.com columnist. Nan and her partner, Dave Sharp, worked together at Belo Corporation, the 6th largest media company with television, cable, newspaper, and internet properties throughout the US.
*NCAA college basketball champion tournaments are played during this month.
Dave Sharp — The Coach
Sports Widow Entertainment, LLC

Dave Sharp is the male incarnation of a Sports Widow. Growing up in the Chicago area, Dave lettered in the “low-visibility” sports in high school — cross country, track and wrestling — and was also the sports editor for his high school yearbook. After graduate school, Dave married into a large family of Sports Widows. To this day, at every holiday gathering, the host house becomes divided between the sports fanatics who watch “the game” on TV and the Sports Widows who hang out waiting for “the game” to be over. Dave currently resides in Seattle, WA, with his wife and two daughters.
Dave has over 25 years of marketing experience as a senior manager of global marketing communications agencies, Fortune 500 Corporations and major media companies. He has worked with some of the nation’s best-known companies and brands in Chicago, Philadelphia and Seattle. Dave’s experience includes work with household names such as Domino’s Pizza, US Bank, Ford Trucks, Campbell’s Soup, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Caterpillar, Airborne Express(DHL), Eddie Bauer and Starbucks. Dave is a serial entrepreneur. His first company, Sharp Hartwig Inc, achieved INC 500 status after five years. In 1994, he subsequently sold Sharp Hartwig to FCB (Interpublic Group). He divides his time as Managing Partner of Sharp Consulting Group, LLC and CEO of Sports Widow Entertainment, LLC.
